Perceptive Enterprise Search Query Annotations
You can attach a query to a document as an annotation. This will allow you
to execute a specific query from that document, thus creating an up-to-date
cross-referencing system within your index. To create an Query annotation:
- Select Edit > Annotate> Query Command from the menu, press
[CTRL-Q] on your keyboard or click the
Attach Query button. - The mouse pointer turns to a marker.
Move the marker to where you would like the annotation located, and click once.
The Create a Query Annotation window appears:
- Create a Command-Based query using the
Query syntax. The buttons on the window perform the following functions:
- Icon - choose an icon to mark the location of the annotation in the document.
The default icon will be displayed to the left of the Icon button. Change the icon
by clicking the Icon button and selecting a new icon from a list.
- Delete - delete an existing annotation. This button is only active if you
have selected an existing annotation. See Deleting
Annotations for more information.
- OK - save the query and close the annotation window.
Click OK.
When the annotation is clicked, the query will run and the results will display
in the Perceptive Enterprise Search - Local Administration Console results list.
